Pregnancy, giving birth and new motherhood are a sacred time in a woman’s life. For many women, these important months of transition are filled with joy, excitement and anticipation. But for others, this life passage may not be as smooth. Even while feeling excited and joyful about giving birth, some women also experience unexpected anxiety, fear, sadness, and grief. Strong, troubling feelings about a traumatic birth experience or the loss of a loved one may surface during this time.
In my private practice, I counsel women experiencing traumatic birth, unexpected cesarean, miscarriage, anxiety, loneliness, grief, loss of a loved one, or difficulty in the new role as mother. As you care for your family, having a designated time to nurture your own emotions is an important gift you can give yourself. I also guide women of all ages in finding joy and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives.
Particularly during these unprecedented times, it is so important to take care of ourselves. The constantly changing news, stress, and isolation present difficult challenges for women who are pregnant or have recently given birth. I am offering remote private sessions to help women navigate the feelings that may be arising at this time, and to learn effective self-care strategies for 2020 and beyond.
I also facilitate Healing from a Traumatic Birth workshops. During these intimate group workshops, which I am now offering remotely, women have the opportunity to share their difficult birth stories and begin to heal from the trauma they’ve experienced. Women may participate weeks, months or years after giving birth. If you have experienced feelings of loss, sadness, anger and/or body issues when thinking about your birth experience, this confidential workshop is for you.

In 2018, I co-founded the South Shore Perinatal Wellness Center in Norwell, MA. It has been my life-long goal to create a collaborative of dedicated perinatal practitioners, and to provide a warm, welcoming space where women can access a range of compassionate caregivers and services during the perinatal period and beyond. I am also the author of Birth as a Healing Experience: The Emotional Journey of Pregnancy through Postpartum. As described by Mothering Magazine, this book “compassionately examines the psychological aspects of pregnancy and birth.”

It is my dream that every woman has the time and ability to explore her emotions and feel comforted during the journey to motherhood and throughout her life. The period of pregnancy, birth and postpartum is a special time. I would be honored to help you in a way that is nurturing and meaningful to you.
